Why We Love It:
Pineleaf beardtongue combines vivid color with exceptional toughness. Its fine, evergreen foliage adds texture year-round, while the glowing red-orange blooms create a striking display in late spring and early summer. Native to the Southwest and perfectly adapted to lean, dry soils, this drought-tolerant perennial thrives in sunny rock gardens and xeric landscapes where many other plants struggle. Hummingbirds flock to the tubular flowers, making it one of the best pollinator plants for water-wise gardens.
Additional Info:
Native to the southwestern United States and highly adaptable to dry climates and high elevations. Deer and rabbit resistant once established. Performs best in sharply drained soils and should not be overwatered, especially during winter. Excellent for gravel gardens, slopes, and rocky planting areas where evergreen texture is desired year-round.
