Adapted to elevations above 6,000 feet and especially well suited for western rock gardens and mountain climates. Requires excellent drainage and performs best in lean, gravelly soils with minimal supplemental water once established. Avoid heavy clay soils and overwatering, particularly during winter months. Exceptional for crevice gardens, alpine troughs, and exposed sunny sites.
